What you need to know about Tola Odeyemi, the newly appointed CEO of NIPOST

Tola Odeyemi is the newly appointed Postmaster General and CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), succeeding Sunday Adepoju. With a background in Electrical and Systems Engineering and over 15 years of experience in technology policy, Odeyemi is well-qualified for the role.

She has a proven track record of deploying technology to meet policy and regulatory requirements and formulating innovative technology policies. Odeyemi’s expertise extends to policy implementation in both government and the private sector, particularly in strategic frameworks for public sector, technology projects, and infrastructure financing.

Tech expert Oluwaseun Dania, CEO of Alpha-Geek Technologies, commended Odeyemi’s appointment, emphasizing her strong background in technology policy and government regulation. Her previous roles at global companies like Uber and Binance, as well as her experience at the Central Bank of Nigeria and 21st Century Technologies, make her well-suited to lead NIPOST towards technological advancement and operational excellence.

Dania also noted Odeyemi’s significant contributions to public service during her time as the Executive Secretary/Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor, where she had a notable impact on policy-making and strategic implementation.

Odeyemi’s appointment represents a milestone in Nigeria’s technological advancement and policy innovation. Her extensive experience and technology policy expertise are expected to bring positive changes to NIPOST, aligning with the goals set by the Minister for Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
