“Why did the Police kill my husband in cold blood”- Anambra woman raises Alarm

In Anambra state,a woman known as Mrs Ever Okonkwo has raised an alarm that her husband , Mr. Dubem Okonkwo had gone missing following his arrest by the Police and taken to Awkuzu police Custody, where he was detained.

Mrs. Okonkwo said that her husband was a member of the Tricycle owners Association Awka Branch, Anambra state,on 15 March,the police was said to have arrested him without explanation.

She alleged that husband might have been murdered in police Custody, owing to the fact that her husband who was arrested and paraded among other suspects by the Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng at the Command’s headquarters in Awka, of which she couldn’t see him again after the parade; thus, meaning he has gone missing.

She added that her husband was arrested at the UniZik junction park, that the CP refused to tell his family or his colleagues the nature of his offence; she exclaimed that why did they kill her husband, even if he committed a crimes, he was supposed to be charged to court and then the law takes it cause.

She therefore appeals to the President, Minister of women affairs, Inspector General of Police to prevail on the case,that she needs Justice. When contacted the state police spokesman, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, only said the suspect was among those that were paraded.
