Why I Dragged Senator Akume to Court, Gov Ortom

By Isaac Kertyo, Makurdi

The cold war between the Governor of Benue State, Dr Samuel Ortom and the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Sen George Akume has taken a different dimension as Ortom has dragged Akume to Court to explain the allegations he leveled against him.

It could be recalled that the Minister had addressed a press conference in Abuja on Monday  accusing the Governor of diverting funds in the state.

Speaking with Journalists in Makurdi, the Governor described the allegations as false, stressing that as a law abiding citizen he decided to approach the court where his name will be cleared.

He pointed out that what Akume did was a fabricated lies to ruin his reputation, stating that the Minister’s action was a deliberate attempt to sell out Benue State.
