Speaking earlier, Keyamo said, “This will be a major global event. Around the world, airshows are key fixtures on national aviation calendars—we have the Farnborough Airshow the Paris Airshow, and we’ll be going to the Dubai Airshow in the next two or three weeks.”

“It’s a regular event across countries, but we have never had one in our history since Nigeria began receiving aircraft.”

He disclosed, ” that this will be the first show from the first aircraft landing in Nigeria in 1925 until now, this year marks 100 years of aviation in Nigeria.”

He noted that the Airshow will be part of that centenary celebration, adding that the Aviation Ministry will partner with a private company to drive this initiative, which is massively supported and aided by the Nigerian Air Force.

As a global event, we have international companies and major aviation powerhouses from around the world coming to Nigeria to display their innovations and interact with us within our aviation ecosystem, Keyamo disclosed.
He emphasized that the event forms a major tourism opportunity for Abuja as he sought official endorsement by the FCT minister.
