“You Can Now Have Your Life Back” — Blessing CEO Reacts as Court Clears IVD of Wife’s Death

A Lagos court has discharged and acquitted popular auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, widely known as IVD, of any involvement in the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.

The ruling, delivered on Monday, December 15, 2025, brought to an end a protracted legal battle that spanned nearly three years. During that period, Bimbo’s family had accused IVD of responsibility for her death, leading to his arrest and prosecution by the Lagos State Government.

Reacting to the judgment, IVD’s partner, Blessing CEO, took to social media to celebrate the outcome, expressing relief and gratitude while also offering advice to others.

“Discharged and acquitted, 15th December 2025. It ended in praise. Four years of tears and false narratives. The Nigerian justice system still works, and I’m proud of my country. IVD, you can now have your life back. Congratulations. If a marriage or relationship is not working, please run—don’t wait for anybody to pass. Run,” she wrote.

Bimbo Ogbonna passed away in October 2022 after sustaining injuries from a fire incident at the couple’s Lagos residence. The tragedy attracted widespread public attention, with reports linking the incident to alleged domestic issues in the marriage.

In March 2023, IVD was arraigned on charges of involuntary manslaughter and was later granted bail as the case progressed. The legal proceedings saw several twists, including his rearrest on August 1, 2025, by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions while he was en route to Qatar ahead of his planned wedding with Blessing CEO.

With the court’s decision, the long-running case has now been officially laid to rest.
