Zamfara govt gives bandits two months ultimatum to surrender

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has given a two months ultimatum to the killer bandits within which they must either repent and lay down arms or face intense military operations.

The governor who gave the announcement today said despite the peace and dialogue policy approach that yielded some positive result in making hundreds of bandits to repent and willingly submits their arms, “there are still some diffiants who refuse to embrace peace and withdraw from banditry”, he sai.

Hon. Matawalle further emphasized that those bandits who choose to embrace peace have demonstrated the love for the wellbeing of the state but others who are still stubborn will surely be dealt with according to military action.

The governor also banned carrying more than one passenger on a motor bike and unlawful motor vehicle convoy.
