Senator representing Zamfara Central, Hassan Mohammed Gusau, on Tuesday, announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, read Gusau’s letter informing his colleagues of his action at the plenary.
Gusau, according to the letter, attributed his decision to the alleged factionalisation and infighting in the Zamfara State chapter of the PDP.
He however failed to make clear if he will now pitch his tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC) or any of the registered political parties.
He said he would make his decision on what party he hopes to join known in due course.
“Further decisions on political movement and party affiliations will be communicated to this chamber in due course.”
Recall that Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State is about this time formally crossing over from the PDP to the APC.
Also recall that last week it was also rumoured that Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Nwaoboshi, has concluded plans to cross over from the PDP to the APC.
However, there is yet no official message from Nwaoboshi confirming or denying the widespread insinuation.
