DASH TO BE AWARDED FULL ACCREDITATION FOR GENERAL SURGERIES Prof. Terna Yawe,

Professor of surgery from the West African College of Surgeons, recently visited Dash  to assess facilities in the surgery department to enhance full accreditation of the department and to train Doctors.

He stated this when he led a team of surgeons from the West African College of Surgeons to assess the facilities in DASH. He however emphasised that the exercise would be carried out periodically to ensure that training sites for resident doctors are up to standard in terms of facilities, noting that working tools and adequate manpower were necessary.


The Chief Medical Director Dr. Ikrama Hassan , who acknowledged  that “the team was in DASH for a full re accreditation, pointing out that the department had a partial accreditation to train its residents (doctors) to certain level.
“The management is putting the necessary things in place to ensure that other departments like Internal Medicine, Radiology and subsequently the introduction of the department of Community Medicine come to pass as they await response from different colleges which have been to DASH for similar exercise”.


 Prof. Yawe, expressed his delight at the rapid transformation recorded in the hospital  within a short period of time, calling it, “an unbelievable and remarkable transformation”.
