Kaduna PDP react, denies plot to adopt consensus candidate

The People’s Democracy Party, PDP, Kaduna state has swiftly reacted to the allegation of plot by the party’s main caucus to adopt a consensus candidate ahead of the party’s State congress, saying the allegation is false and without iota of truth.
Earlier, a PDP group under, the guise of Forun of Chairmanship Aspirants, had during a press conference Wednesday morning alleged that, a caucus of the party had completed plans to adopt one out of four aspirant, as consensus candidate in a meeting scheduled for Thursday 20th August 2020, without inviting them.

But in a reaction statement obtained from the caucus via the youth leader Danjuma Sariki stated that their was no such plan by any caucus under the outgoing Chairman, Hon. Hassan Hyet, saying those making the allegation are sponsored by members loyal to APC in Kaduna state.

He said within a spate of few months, the group instituted about 16 legal action against the party to frustrate planned state Congress and yet to withdraw them despite consistent advised to do so.

He said the group took a decision at their meeting held
in Dr Matoh’s former Kaduna assembly deputy speakers residence on Thursday morning to reject the composition of the caretaker Committee and ate preparing to petition it.

According to him, some of their decision include “Total rejection of the composition of the caretaker committee, hence a petition will be written to this effect; outright rejection of the portfolios assigned to the Caretaker Committee Chairman, CTC, especially the position of the Organising Secretary, Asst Secretary and PR0, or petition will be written to this effect too.
Among other plans arrived, he said, is to address a press conference to debunk the adoption of the Zoning arrangement in Zone 3 and the endorsement of Hon Hyat, rejects the 7man committee from the 23 LG who may eventually be made LG Caretaker committee members respectively
