Kastina United targets continental ticket

By Mike Oboh

Kastina United Football Club are optimistic that a continental ticket is within its reach when action resumes in the Nigeria Professional Football league this season.

The chairman of the club, Prince Badamisi  Abdulsamad  said in an interview with Daybreak Sports that the club despite the COVID 19 lockdown was preparing to up its game when the season kicks off in the country.

Abdulsamad said towards this the club has sent packing 15 of its old players and engaged 9 new players to make the difference.

He said the newly recruited players were working towards improving the fortune of the club.

He said the welfare of the players will remain a constant star in its priority when the season kicks off.

He said the club performance last season was encouraging and its performance this year will be a great improvement on it.

The chairman said the club’s target is a continental ticket to appreciate the efforts of the State Government and thousands of its fan spread across the country.

He noted that though the COVID 19 pandemic has caused a lot of distractions for sports in the country his team was still focused on picking one of the tickets from the league or the federation cup competitions.

He said the club was set to operate under any new measure put in place by the government  for the return of the round leather sport in the country.

He appealed to the football authorities in the country to find a way out to restore the game back in the country.

“We are training hard for the upcoming season and we will not relax our mind because our target is a continental ticket which will act as a source of  pride for our fans and the people and government in the state,’ he said.
