Winners Of Indonesia, Nigeria Bilateral Competition Honored With Scholarship By Benue Govt

Benue State Government has granted scholarship to students of the state who were part of the Nigerian representatives that emerged winners at Indonesia, Nigeria Bilateral Debate Competition, organized for basic learners held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, made the pronouncement while receiving the participants of the debate competition from Benue, Sonia Aduba, Ruth Suurshater, Ogenyi Favor and Samuel Ochara, at the Government House Makurdi.

A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, quoted his Principal as insisting that his administration won’t lament about paucity of funds, especially as regard issues of education and development, assuring that his government would give equal opportunity to Benue kids to travel internationally, in order to make the state proud.

The Governor promised that his government will henceforth, take up the tuition fees of the four students up to their first degrees at the university. He also donated a cash reward of N4 million to each of the four students who participated in the competition, a cash reward of N3 million was given to their Coaches for their support to the students. While ten laptop computers were given to their schools by the governor.
