10 Suspects Arrested Over Communal Clash in Benue by Military

At least ten suspects have been arrested by the Operation Whirl Stroke’s troops, 16 rifles and ammunition recovered in Ibilla and Ikpa communities in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State over a bloody Communal Clash which is currently rocking the area.

Day Break gathered that the aforementioned Communal Clash ensued when officials of the National Population Commission, NPC, commenced delineation exercise at a disputed border involving two communities.

It was learnt that many houses as well as other facilities were touched during the fracas where some members of the two communities attack each other.

The troops of the Operation Whirl Stroke who were deployed to the area allegedly arrested 10 suspects, recovered firearms among other items. The suspects are said to have been taken to Makurdi for investigation.

When contacted, the OPWS Commander, Maj. Gen. Adeyemi Yekini refused to comment on the incident.
