10 Things that destroys relationships

There really is no such thing like an effortless relationship, actually you need to put in those small efforts of affection and commitment to keep your relationship going. Also, there are things you should avoid because they kill relationships. So, here are 10 things that destroys relationships.

1) Attempts to change each other
We’re all are far from being perfect. But don’t confuse habits and negative traits. There are things that people can’t change about themselves, regardless of how many times they hear of their flaws. Learn to see the difference between throwing socks all over the house (a habit) and losing socks constantly (absent-mindedness, which is a character trait).

2) Meeting parents
If you already know your partner’s parents, great! And if you maintain friendly relationships, it’s even better. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen all the time. A girl’s mom can’t stand her daughter’s boyfriend, and a guy’s mom doesn’t like her son’s girlfriend. However, this mustn’t affect the climate within your couple. Your parents don’t respect your choice? Just don’t take your partner for family dinners. No matter how much you want your folks to get to know your loved one better, if the relationship has long gone wrong, a joint dinner will bring nothing but a spoiled mood.

3) Gadgets
Smartphones are rapidly turning from assistants into couple ruiners. Here’s a common situation: a young couple is sitting at a table in a café, and instead of enjoying time with each other, they write text messages or browse social networks. Of course, there can be urgent matters sometimes, but, in the end, what can be more important than a loved one near you?

4) Public reproaches
Never start quarreling in public. You’ll embarrass not only your partner but also the people around you. No matter how much you want to deal with a problem, solve it only face to face.

5) Silence
Keeping everything to yourself is also not the best way to solve issues. You need to understand that your partner can’t read your thoughts. If there’s a conflict emerging, tell about it frankly. Are you dissatisfied with something? Admit it. Expressing emotions, both positive and negative, is necessary for your mind and strong relationships.

6) Wrong timing
All important issues need to be discussed when the time is right. Don’t start talking, for example, about moving to a new apartment after a hard day at work. Short answers and occasional nods, in this case, don’t speak of the indifference of your partner. This means that they’re tired and don’t have the strength to discuss something serious. Leave the conversation for later.

7) Money
Relationships involve a joint budget. Don’t be petty in financial matters. Discuss the main points: how to manage finances and pay bills. Never say something like: “Let’s go to the cinema on Saturday, but I paid last weekend, so it’s your turn now.”

8) Small quarrels
Don’t be angry about the small things. Your partner burned your T-shirt or bought the wrong cookies? These are trivialities that are not worth your attention or emotions. Why start a conflict from nothing? It’s better to go for a stroll together.

9) Lack of trust
If you secretly check her emails and read the text message, there’s no trust between you. You both must have some personal space. Such domestic espionage won’t bring anything, except quarrels. But if a partner gives a real reason for jealousy, it’s a different thing. Is there something alarming in their behavior? It’s better to talk about it openly at once. Maybe they’re late at work because they’re preparing a surprise for you.

10) Calmness
Here’s a trivial story: a woman marries, gets too relaxed, gains weight, and stops caring for herself. The same goes for men. Harmony in relationships is not an excuse to stop looking after yourself. Do you want your partner to grow cold with you? No? So pay attention to your looks.
