Group operating under the auspices of Determined and Focused Middle Belt Youth Leaders ( DFMDYL) has joined the call for Senator Simon Mwadkwon to be elected minority leader of the 10th Senate.
The body pointed out that the North Central should be recognised for the position .
The group in a statement issued on Monday and made available to journalists in Jos said that their son, Senator Mwadkwon who is from the North Central as well as the middlebelt region , is qualified to be the Majority leader of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The statement was signed by the President of the group Pius Aboh Achagba and it’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Sunny Nufawa describes Senator Mwadkwon as the best man for the Job .
The statement reads that ” As the tenth assembly assumes control of Nigeria’s legislative arm, the nation enthusiastically anticipates the beginning of a new era. ”
”
In light of these circumstances, it is anticipated that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will approach its opposition role in the tenth assembly differently this time with strategic acumen and intellectual dexterity.
According to the statement ” The opposition should maintain its commitment to its pro-people agenda and principles while anchoring its actions in patriotic candour. To regain its enviable position and strategically position itself to reclaim power, the PDP must present candidates who are politically experienced, credible and trustworthy for key positions.”
These candidates must exhibit honesty, consistency and party loyalty and Senator Simon Mwadkwon of Plateau North senatorial zone exemplifies these characteristics.
A modest Prince from the hills of the Plateau with a reputation for extraordinary political mobilisation and grassroots appeal.
The statement also reads that “At this critical time the PDP with all due respect, must do away with any candidate that has a selfish, egocentric, parochial or vindictive agenda to lead opposition in the senate.
Born into a regal family in Riyom Local government council of Plateau state , Senator Simon Mwadkwon’s dedication to education and research distinguishes him.
With degrees from prestigious Nigerian and international universities, he combines academic knowledge with a profound understanding of grassroots mobilisation.
His previous positions as an academic at the prestigious University of Jos, president of youth and socio-cultural community organisations, elected chairman of Riyom Local Government Area, and twice as a federal representative all under the PDP have demonstrated his passion for making a difference in people’s lives.
Despite being in the opposition at the state level, Senator Mwadkwon has laboured tirelessly for his constituents on a consistent basis.
Through networking and diligent advocacy, he has facilitated numerous constituency initiatives and employment opportunities for his people.
His record of devoted service, party loyalty and quality representation beyond his constituency has won him widespread admiration and consistent support from the Plateau northern senatorial zone, the largest and most cosmopolitan of the three senatorial zones on the Plateau to represent them as Senator.
Again at the outset of this tenth assembly, it is expedient for the PDP to prioritise reconciliation within the party, nurture unity, and consolidate its position as a credible opposition by rapidly embracing the North Central zone.
A crucial political region in the nation that the dominant party has been lackadaisical in recognising. In accordance with principles of equity, justice, and impartiality, the region must be accorded proper recognition within the party and the scheme of political positions in the tenth assembly.
By selecting Senator Mwadkwon, the PDP can demonstrate its commitment to internal harmony and construct a formidable opposition that focuses on strategic objectives rather than pointless animosity. Senator Mwadkwon, as the PDP’s candidate for Senate Minority Leader, will polish the party’s national political image, which is urgently needed.
His level-headedness, vast network of political alliances, placid demeanour and dedication to humanity make him the ideal candidate to lead the opposition in the tenth senate.
Senator Simon Mwadkwon exemplifies a new breed of leaders who can effect positive change and advance Nigeria.
He represents the largest political and cosmopolitan zone in the state of Plateau, which is home to numerous ethnic and religious groups. Simple Simon as he is widely known is reputed for his reluctance to make hasty decisions and pander to the media gallery for political accolades.
His rise in the political arena of Plateau state and the north-central region is nothing short of remarkable. His qualifications, character and commitment to service make him the optimal candidate.
As a dark horse of this race, his stealthy and politically calculated demeanour have captivated and attracted the attention of both his political allies and adversaries.
The PDP must not squander this chance ,the statement further reads .
