5 Reasons why you should date

Young people watch a lot of romantic movies and series on different platforms such as: Iroko TV, Netflix, Dstv and many others, they get the idea of dating from how couples in these movies behave and they want to replicate that in their real life. While some see it and crave to have a happy relationship as portrayed on TV, a lot of young folks are not interested in going into the dating scene at all. So here’s 5 reasons you should be in a relationship.

1. Relationship Help You Know How To Treat A Partner: In any relationship, one of the things you’d learn easily is how to show sympathy and compassion towards your partner, especially when they’re going through a rough patch and they need your moral and physical support. Your partner becomes a part of your life, and any mood swing they have could affect the relationship negatively. Treating your partner right creates an enabling environment in-which you understand the importance of love and having someone the fall back on during hard times.

2. Dating is Fun: It’s a lot of fun dating someone new, you get to understand another persons life, you’d get to see life from a whole different perspective which could be helpful to your growth as a human being. You can travel the world with your partner and explore new things while at it. It can be a source of enjoyment and recreation. This is an end in itself because couples want to relax and experience a form of entertainment together.

3. Dating involves Learning about Intimacy: The more you’re in a relationship with someone, you’d get to learn how to treat them better than their previous partner did. No matter how many friends we have, in order to fulfill our deep need for love and affection, we need close relationships with others, especially the opposite sex.

4. Companionships is Important: Having a hand to hold as you go through life makes the difficulties we all experience easier to deal with. When things go wrong, knowing that your mate has your back will allow you to go through whatever you have to and come out the other side a more positive person.

5. Dating Helps You Prepare For Marriage: The realistic goal of dating is to get married to your partner. A person can use dating as a process of filtering out or narrowing the field of eligible partners down to a specific few and eventually to one person who will be his mate for a lifetime. Dating can help couples acquire the needed knowledge and skills for a successful marriage. For example, dating helps develop a better understanding of each other’s attitudes and behaviors, how to get along, and can increase your ability to discuss and solve relational problems.
