Landlord Moves to Evict 2Baba and Natasha Over Alleged Rent Dispute

Renowned Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his wife, Natasha Idibia, are reportedly embroiled in a legal dispute with their landlord over alleged unpaid rent on their Abuja residence.

The property in question is a five-bedroom semi-detached duplex with a boys’ quarters, located at No. 27 Edwin Clerk Crescent, Guzape, Abuja. The development comes months after Natasha had publicly claimed that the house was a gift from her grandfather to the couple, a statement that led many to believe they owned the property.

However, fresh reports now suggest that the Idibias are tenants, not owners. Court documents circulating online indicate that the property belongs to a landlord who has become dissatisfied with the situation and has approached the court, seeking approval to evict the couple.

The eviction move is reportedly connected to unresolved financial obligations linked to the tenancy. According to the documents, the couple initially secured the property for two years after paying ₦40 million upfront, with an agreement to pay an additional ₦40 million on or before the end of December 2025 as the total rental value.

The documents further allege that the couple failed to pay professional fees amounting to ₦7 million to an agent who facilitated the tenancy. It was also claimed that after repeated demands, a cheque issued in settlement of the fees was returned unpaid.

The agent’s legal representatives reportedly expressed surprise over the situation, noting that the unpaid fees affected the firm’s operations and staff welfare. They demanded that the ₦7 million professional fee be paid within seven days, warning that failure to do so would result in further legal action to recover the debt.

As of the time of this report, neither 2Baba nor Natasha Idibia has publicly responded to the allegations.
