Ododo Calls for Unity, Peaceful Coexistence in Easter Message to Kogi Residents

The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged residents to use the Easter season as a time for reflection and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence, unity, and mutual respect. In a statement issued on Saturday in Lokoja, the governor called on citizens to show love, support the less privileged, and work collectively toward shared prosperity.

Ododo described Easter as a sacred period that reflects sacrifice, hope, and renewal, drawing lessons from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He said the season encourages values such as humility, forgiveness, and compassion.

The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property while strengthening security and creating an enabling environment for development. “We remain resolute in our promise to protect lives and property and to build on progress in security, infrastructure, healthcare, and economic growth,” he said.

He added that unity and collective responsibility are essential as the state and the nation pursue peace and development, urging residents to place the common good above personal interests.Ododo concluded by wishing citizens peace, joy, and renewed hope during the Easter season.
