2020: 5 Things to do next year

It is less than two months into the new year and many of us have started claiming what we want the new year to hold for us. We have all started making resolutions and achievements we hope to accomplish in the new year. While this is a commendable act, it would be futile if we don’t put certain things in place before the end of this year and work towards achieving it completely in the coming year. There are some things we could work on even before the end of 2019 and start our new year with them fully in place.

First of all, set a goal to be achieved in the year. Everyone of us all have ideas of a new year resolution and how it could shape the decisions we make that year but a new year resolution is quite different from a goal. A goal is a statement of an objective backed by a strong willpower to achieve it. I could make a goal that before the end of 2020, I intend to have a house of my own and then work towards achieving that. This goal could be set before the year runs out or early 2020 when the year is already taking shape, although it is important that this is set before the end of the first quarter.

It is equally important to invest in yourself throughout the year. Have an idea of certifications you hope to obtain before the end of 2020 and programmes you need to attend to further your career. Investing in yourself would mean you take relevant steps to draw yourself to programmes that would heighten your career and set you on a path to excel in that field.

Also, ensure you get a side hustle in place this new year. This would help you to achieve many of your dreams including investing in yourself without worrying too much about what financial burden it would be on you. The world today abound with many freelancing opportunities you can tap into and many jobs you could do other than your regular ones. It would therefore be beneficial to you to discover within the remaining days of this year what side hustle you would like to do in the coming year.

Maintaining a healthy relationship with others is also one important thing you should be after in 2020. An healthy relationship would mean you have a connection or association with people that are relevant to your dreams and can spur you into being a better person. Relationships that would not move you forward in any area should be avoided as they would only waste your time and derail your path.

Lastly, In 2020, it is important to get a stringent financial policy that would help you save more for your goal. Cut down on unnecessary expenses, avoid purchasing items you don’t really need and save more.
In conclusion, it is not enough to keep saying 2020 is your year. You have to act that way by getting the above in place and if you truly follow them through, I am very sure by the end of 2020, you wouldn’t be giving an excuse of how mobile data subscriptions cost you your dream!
