Ogba Dance, a traditional masquerade show of Kogi State has given a good account of itself, at the ongoing National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST), in Lagos State
In a press release made available to journalists in Lokoja, the Public Relations Officer and HOD performing arts, Comrade Gabriel Edicha said, With a standing ovation, both the spectators and the judges were stunned and excited as they gleefully watched the energetic and artistic Ogba Dance presented by Kogi State Council for Arts and Culture.
OGBA DANCE is a distinctive and well choreographed rite of passage dance from Kogi East Senatorial District of the State.
The dance was fielded to meet the specification for this year’s NAFEST competitive event of under 15 children musical and dance.
Ogba Dance showcases energetic artistic display, creativity, and history of the abundant cultural heritage of Kogi State.
Similarly, in the indigenous fabrics and fashion parade competition, Kogi State has been commended for using indigenous EBIGO model, to design specified attires for security men, protocol officers/waiters, receptionists, and chefs in a hotel setting.
Also, Samson Egene a.k.a “Soso” gave a good account of himself at the ongoing Board Game (Ayo) competition.
He has won one game, drawn two and lost one at the ongoing festival. At the event, the presence of Kogi State is outstanding.
