2023: APC Vows To Deliver Bayelsa For Tinubu, Shettima

The Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs to Chief Timipre Sylva, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Julius Bokoru has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has built the structure needed to deliver 100 per cent votes for its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, during the forthcoming 2023 general election in Bayelsa State.

Speaking to newsmen in Yenagoa, the APC chieftain said that Tinubu deserves to be the next President of Nigeria because he understands governance from the basics to its complexities.

He said that when Tinubu is voted into office, there will be marked increase in the quality of life, little items accumulating, and every aspect of development will move forward in unison.

He said “there is the ready Lagos example where Tinubu showed his mettle. I believe he can replicate the Lagos story across Nigeria.
Sometimes people are fascinated by candidates with smooth tongues and extraterrestrial manifesto but ultimately with no content, no touch of reality and a stark misunderstanding of rural Nigeria.

“Tinubu is a People’s person, a homeboy and someone who would rather increase the income of the woman selling items at the market than talk of building a space ship, he will look into electricity and he won’t talk about inter-galactic travels as some candidates are doing, the manial day labourer will be proud of his wages and the civil service will be reinvigorated.

“He is a Human capacity builder. We can see the great names emanating from the Tinubu school of Leadership. He spots, nurtures and builds talents. That is vision. Its important to note that as a Muslim he is married to a Pastor, there’s hardly a greater show of character.

“He is in touch with the people, with rural Nigeria and with the grassroots, that tells he has the people at heart. He is full of Leadership, a patriarch and a friend to all. Nigeria cannot get it wrong with Tinubu
We shocked the country during the last polls and as we can all see, we have even stronger candidates now.”

Speaking on whether the current Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has what takes to conducta free, fair and credible election in 2023, Bokoru said “If I remember correctly, the last three governorship elections in the country has seen the opposition Peoples Democratic Party pick two out of three, that is, Edo and Osun while the APC took Ekiti.

“Seyi Makinde of Oyo State also became governor under this dispensation. This tells alot, this tells that this is one of the most neutral, unbiased and uncompromised INEC we have seen in years.

“Of course, I am not their spokesperson and my views are expressly that of an observer and a stakeholder in the political process, but with what I can see so far I can tell that this INEC will most likely respect the wishes of Nigerians. There’s just too much at stake, I expect the best from them.”

On the chances of the APC expanding the number seats it has at the National and State Assemblies, he said “at Bayelsa Central Senatorial zone, the back and forth Street fight between incumbent, Senator Moses Cleopas, and the challenger Konbowei Benson who seems to have upstaged him now is a dizzying, if not amusing spectacle.

“While they tear themselves apart, Chief Tiwei Orunimighe, grassrooted, smart, honest and energetic will cruise to a comprehensive victory with the flag of the APC. We have also Hon. Preye Oseke (Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency) who’s already at the house, who is so popular courtesy of his developmental drive and initiatives that the PDP offered a no-show as a challenger.

“Still at the Central, all opinion polls suggests to Hon. Ebi Fekoweimo leading a certain Hon. Oforgi Oboku. The mere fact of the PDP even considering Oforgi is an affront to the National Assembly and an embarrassment to not just the PDP but the entire state.

“We, Bayelsans, cannot cheat ourselves by sending incompetent, barely literate people to represent us. At the East, Senator Degi-Eremienyo will be returned to the Senate, he did extremely well and is one of the most creative, vocal Senators currently at the Red Chambers.

“Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli will have an easy ride back to the green Chambers, some credit goes to the PDP who are splitting themselves across parties especially the SDP backed by a former PDP governor with the principal aim of embarrassing the current one.

“So at every turn the PDP in Bayelsa state are self-terminating. At the West, the candidacy of Mike Olomu for Sagbama Ekeremor Federal Constituency is sending shockwaves while Hon. Wilson Dauyegha will cause an upset by defeating Senator Seriake Dickson who is currently out of touch and out of favour with the people. For the Assembly seats APC will win more than 90% of that.”
