The National Youth Alliance (NYA) has called for nationwide peaceful protests and stronger political action to address concerns about governance, opposition politics and economic hardship in Nigeria.In a statement issued in Kaduna, the group’s National Youth President, Aliyu Bin Abbas, said recent political developments require more decisive engagement beyond press briefings.
The statement, signed by his media aide Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, referenced a planned press conference involving Atiku Abubakar and other opposition leaders on issues affecting the African Democratic Congress (ADC).NYA urged both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and opposition parties to prioritise actions that address insecurity, unemployment and economic challenges facing citizens.
The group called for peaceful public demonstrations, broader civic engagement and initiatives aimed at national unity and recovery. It also encouraged leaders to adopt measures that build public trust and reflect the concerns of Nigerians.
According to the statement, many citizens—especially young people—are facing significant hardship and expect practical solutions from political leaders. The organisation said it would continue to advocate for increased youth participation and accountability in governance.
