By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has promoted 57 staff across its headquarters and zonal offices following its 2026 promotion exercise.

In a press release signed by the commission’s new Director of Media and Public Relations. Celestine Toruka, the examination, conducted on April 1, was approved by the Executive Secretary, Stephen Adegbite, and later ratified by the Commission’s Board.

“Those promoted include two Deputy Directors promoted to Directors and two Assistant Directors upgraded to Deputy Directors. Among the newly appointed Directors are Celestine Toruka (Media and Public Relations) and Benedict Okoh (Mobilisation).”

Speaking during a thank-you visit by the beneficiaries at the commission’s Abuja headquarters on April 20, Adegbite reaffirmed his commitment to staff advancement, stressing that career progression remains a priority under his leadership.

He urged promoted staff to avoid complacency and pursue further professional and academic development while maintaining discipline, diligence, and loyalty in service.

“I will not tolerate indiscipline, but I will ensure no staff is denied their rights,” he said.

Bishop Adegbite also expressed hope that the promotion would bring fulfillment to the beneficiaries and enable them to attain a successful career and retirement.

Earlier, Director of Administration Abu Okpanachi commended the Executive Secretary’s inclusive leadership style and pledged continued staff support for the Commission’s mandate.
