The leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has dissociated it self from revisited list of members of the APC 2023 presidential campaign council.
CAN frowned at the composition of the council in which names of some outgoing officials of the body were included.
In a statement by CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, Thursday, described the action as worrisome as it negates the non- partisan posture of the reputable body.
”My attention as President of CAN has been drawn to the revised list of members of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign Council wherein the names of some outgoing officials of the body were featured.
”Such a development is worrisome because it counters the well-known stance of CAN on partisanship.
”I want to categorically exonerate my humble self from this development and any of such that may occur in the future.
”I want to use this medium to assure all Christians in Nigeria and the general public that since I received the news, I have commenced full investigation into how the officials got involved into overt partisanship.
According to him” At the end of the probe, CAN will take fair, but decisive and appropriate action with a view to defending the ideals of the umbrella Christian body I lead by the grace of the Almighty God.
”On a final note, I urge the general public to be calm while we collectively work to entrench a culture of inclusion and respect for our religious diversities in our political leadership”, the statement noted.

An NGO, SHIFT Nigeria has commenced a N10 million transformation of the Primary Healthcare Center (PHC) in Sigau in Lere LGA of Kaduna state, as part of its commitment to creating change at the grassroots by empowering individuals and
their communities.
The Sigau community in Lere has notably been affected by recurrent security issues that have resulted
in injuries and death. In the midst of these security challenges, the healthcare center,”which is severely
dilapidated, was barely operational.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Kaduna state via Communications Director of SHIFT Nigeria, Nankwat Dakum Mbi.
“Through the “Make Change initiative”, SHIFT Nigeria
has partnered with World Connect and the Sigau community to create change and provide them access to quality healthcare. When completed, the facility will have an impact on the thousands
of local residents in the area”, it stated.
Speaking on the “Make Change initiative”, the Communications Director of SHIFT Nigeria,
Nankwat Dakum Mbi says: “It is extremely disheartening when we see our leaders enjoying the
privileges of healthcare abroad while people are suffering at home.

even comfortably deliver at the Sigau facility because they lack basic necessities such as a roof
and hospital beds. If we do not work together as a people to ensure that our communities are
getting the needs they deserve, then we will find there are no people left to govern”.
In addition to the ongoing renovation of the Sigau facility, SHIFT Nigeria also carries out
sensitization programs to encourage health-seeking behaviors in the community.
Town hall meetings between the people and the leaders have also been facilitated by the organization.
The senior leadership, while appreciating the efforts made by World Connect and their $10,000
contribution to the initiative, impressed upon the need for support from fellow Nigerians.
“We cannot do this alone. Renovating an entire healthcare center involves not only the
infrastructure but also quality equipment, sufficient medication, and properly trained staff.” says

It however state that “We need the support of the people and even the government to complete this project and give this community a functioning health care
center*.
Usman Sale, a resident of the community, speaks on the significance of the project when completed, saying, “We have lost many of our loved ones because we have to send them outside Sigau for medical assistant.
“Most especially to a hospital that can care for them. Some have died on the way. “If this project is finished, it will improve our lives,” he claimed.
“SHIFT Nigeria has consistently worked to support transformational leadership and empower
underserved communities by carrying out meaningful projects and facilitating important
conversations.
“The group recently completed two clean water projects in Aliade, Benue state, and gave over 300 people free medical exams in Ikorodu, Lagos.
