By Jabiru Hassan, Kano.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has directed all political appointees running for elective offices in the forthcoming 2023 general elections to resign from their respective positions.

In a press statement signed and issued to newsman in Kano by the chief press secretary to the Governor Abba Anwar, the directive said ” All political appointees are given between now to Monday 18th April, 2022, to resign.” so as to comply with Section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act.

Investigation shows that even that before the directive from the state government, a commissioner for water resources Sadiq Wali and some few appointees resigned their appointments in order to fully prepare for the 2023 battlefield vying into various elective positions.
