2023 is pregnant and replete with great expectations – Abaribe

Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, has described 2023 as pregnant and replete with great expectations.

Abaribe while delivering a lecture entitled”Mobilising the people for effective and God fearing leadership”during the 10th Synod of the Anglican Church at St Andrews Anglican church,Nsukwe/Amibo Ubakala, Diocese of Umuahia, posited that” 2023 provides us the opportunity for proper leadership recruitment that will right the wrongs of the past and usher in a new dawn in our dear state”.

He said:”We must not toy with the opportunity. I leave you with this popular online advocacy mantra:The right people will not win elections when believers refuse to participate in politics.
“Prayer is good, but when it’s time to vote, it’s your votes that are counted not your prayer points! Go and get your PVC and go out to vote on election day”.

According to him, the attributes to look out for when electing leaders in 2023 are God fearing, not religious hypocrites or bigots, not known for corrupt enrichment, not known for abuse of office for personal and parochial gains, not known for economic wastage of public funds in flamboyant lifestyles and profligacy. Others are not known for religious parochialism and fanaticism, not known for ethnic parochialism in the disbursement of projects and our Commonwealth, Known for abhorrence and honest war against corruption., and Known for preaching and working for unity and peace for all our people.

Abaribe further explained:”On my own, I will continue to preach and fight for good governance, government with human face, unity through action as I have exhibited severally for the people of this state and NDIGBO.

“Today, my primary constituency is Igbo land, my village is Abia. I believe this is the way to mentor the youths and mobilize our people for good governance and God fearing leadership,” he said.
