The Kogi state Resident Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission,(INEC),:Prof. James Apam on Tuesday in Lokoja assured the electorates and non governmental organisations of peaceful 2023 general election.

Apam gave the assurance when members of the coalition for Civic Education and Kogi state Network of Non governmental organisations paid him a courtesy visit at the Kogi INEC headquarters, Lokoja.

He attributed the low turnout in the previous elections in the state to harvest of violents usually perpetrated by politicians stressing that the electoral act has taken care of such pre supposed intention.

“Having seen the handwriting on the wall,” the commissioner pointed out that some politicians have since started voters education, door- to-door sensitisation of electorates at their various communities in the state.
