Ex-agitators of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Phase 2, has congratulated the President-elect of the just concluded Presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on his victory while calling for the sack of the coordinator of programme
The group also wished the veteran politician a prosperous and successful leadership in the general wellbeing of the country, and the Niger Delta in particular.
In a statement, signed and sent to newsmen in Yenagoa, by the Chairman, PAP phase 2, Gen. Paul Johnson, and other Executive members, promised to work with the President-elect to achieve his desired aims in Nigeria and the Niger-Delta region.
The group assured him of continued peace as enjoyed in the region to attract more development, and deliver dividend of democracy to the people.
The group said, “We will work with the President-elect with open mind in the Niger-Delta to achieve the needed peace in the region. One thing we are requesting in order for peace to reign in the Niger-Delta is to sack the Interim Administrator of the presidential Amnesty program, Major Gen. Tariye Ndiomu (rtd) as the IA of the presidential Amnesty program”
“Ndiomu, since the very first day he assumed the leadership of the presidential Amnesty program, never meant well for the people of the Niger-Delta. He is an opportunist, a businessman, whose interest, actions and inactions are directed at self-aggrandizement. His main interest with all furiousness to gather, occupy and amass wealth for himself and cronies, from the presidential Amnesty program without a second thought on the real owners of the program”.
“Ndiomu is also using a tactic of divide and rule tactics, using some of our gullible Ex-agitators to pave way for his planned illicit target”
“On march 7th, 2023 at Golden Tulip Hotel, Government House Onopa, yenagoa Bayelsa State, in a program Tag “Ndiomu legacy project one: the establishment of the Presidential Amnesty Corporative Society Limited” which was done using some few gullible ex-agitators in order to buy some cheap political acceptance for the purpose of profiteering for himself and cronies”
“We the real owners of the program have never benefited from the said programmes, rather our names are been used on daily bases to syphon monies daily for personal use”
“His inception into office was to first delisted all our names from the pay role of the N65,000, up until now many of our Ex-agitators are tagged as “BVN LINKAGE ISSUE” whose monies going to Six months he’s using freely in the office without any agitation”
” This same Ndiomu that we had meeting with, on the last week of December 2023, in the cause of the meeting, we pointed out some fake Camps,INGIA-WURU-CAMP. ICE LAND, NDFF, ORAN, EGBERI CAMP, ALAMINI FREEDOM FIGHTER 120, FOUCHEE CAMP, KALAWO CAMP, USIGBE, AGUDA, BFF CAMP, TOBI CAMP, OSUO CAMP, BENUWOLO CAMP, EZEKIEL CAMP, KENNETH OPUSINGI, EVAN CAMP, PEREKEME EVAN CAMP 2, EBI CAMP, K GROUP and amongst others, that his subordinates are using to syphon monies from the program, of which they confirmed for him, up until now he as not done anything about it”
“Ndiomu as being the first known political appointee who worked against the political platform that appointed him, he as been calling us right from the commencement of campaign for the sit of presidency to join him in working against the President-elect, but we refuse to buy into his idea. he as been working for the PDP using the proceed from the Amnesty office through his illicit deeds”
“Recently base on his illicit activities, the Traditional Rulers and Elders from the six states of the Niger Delta petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari over the rising cases of alleged fraud and diversion of funds under the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, presided over by the Interim Coordinator, Major General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (rtd).
Among the allegations thrown up in the petition addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Mohammed Monguno (rtd.), dated February 7, 2023, were cases of alleged forgery of Late Professor Charles Quaker Dokubo’s signature to backdate contract award letters for purported to contractors”
The group alleged that Ndiomu is a fraudster, whose presence in the Amnesty office will not tell well in the near future and call for his immediate sack from the presidential Amnesty program.
It call on President Muhammadu Buhari as a matter of urgency relief Major Gen. Tariye Ndiomu of his duty, and advice the incoming president on his choice of appointment to stay clear of retired officers of the Nigerian military, rather, appoint civilians in the Ijaw extraction who understands the Amnesty program and how it came into existence, not opportunist like Ndiomu, they added.
