21 killed in Kaduna Wednesday night as community say 33 died

Four villages were attacked in Kaduna by gunmen Wednesday night leaving at least 21 people dead while many others were injured.

According to the state’s Police spokesman, Muhammad Jalige, many houses were also burnt down during the attack yet to be identified attackers.

However, Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) gave the figure of casualties as 33 while five villages were attacked.

Luka Binniyat who speaks for SOKAPU said- “Last night (Wednesday) 33 Atyap natives, who were among hundreds of thousands of already starving indigenes under a 24-hour curfew, were killed in Atyap villages in Atyap chiefdom, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area in Southern part of Kaduna by Fulani militia.

“Prior to now, they were all shutdown with fierce armed military men patrolling and enforcing the 24-hour curfew. But when the gunmen struck, they were not on the ground,” he stated.
