3 Diseases you can get from kissing

Kissing is a romantic way of showing affection, it reassures and helps to express emotion. However, during a kiss there is an exchange of bacteria and some of which may be disease causing.

Here are diseases one can contract via kissing:

1. Cytomegalovirus
It is a virus that is in the herpes family. It spreads through the saliva, blood, urine, semen and breast milk. The virus stays dormant in the body for a longer period especially if you are healthy. It can infect anyone.

Some of the symptoms include; fatigue, fever and muscle aches. Some times there are more serious illnesses that are associated with this virus; pneumonia, encephalitis, seizures, and visual impairment.

Doctors have reported that there is no cure for this virus.

2. Mononucleosis
It is caused by a virus called Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) which is spread through saliva.and is Its symptoms are very similar to those of a cold which include fever, sore throat, fatigue, muscle weakness, and swollen lymph glands.

These symptoms last from one to two months. Since there is no treatment for this virus, staying hydrated and taking over-the-counter pain medications is the only option.

3. Herpes
It’s an infection that is caused by the herpes simplex virus. The virus causes painful sores on your lips, gums, tongue, the roof of your mouth, and inside your cheeks. It also can cause symptoms such as fever and muscle aches.

It only affects adults and once you contract the virus, it stays with you forever. The herpes virus is spread through oral sex and can be treated by drinking plenty of fluids and medication for fever.
