The Speaker of the Plateau House of Assembly Rt Hon Gabriel Dewan ,has been commended for displaying “outstanding leadership since he took over office in November 2023 .
No fewer than 7 pro-democracy groups in a press statement lauded the Speaker for a harmonious and seamless running of the Plateau Assembly .
The group also lauded the Speaker for providing quality legislation and dividends of democracy to his constituents ( Pankshin North) .
” Speaker Dewan is deploying every legislative instrument towards meeting the yearnings and aspirations of Plateau citizens “.
” We must commend Dewan for his contribution to human and capital development in his constituency.”
The groups appreciated Speaker Dewan whom they noted had always attended to the welfare of his constituents right from the day he became their representative in the state assembly stressing that no lawmaker before him has performed like him.
In a statement signed by Hon Mba Kambu , the groups described Rt Hon Dewan as a servant leader, a bridge builder, who would excel in politics.
They noted that the Plateau House leadership under Hon Dewan has carried all the members along by running an open-door policy.
The group said the result is glaring as the Plateau assembly has operated with oneness, openness and fairness to all.
“We have followed the leadership of the Plateau 10th assembly under Dewan and we must commend him for making giant strides in a short while,” the group added .
“ In the Plateau Assembly There is a new sense of togetherness, friendship and close bond between lawmakers.
“We are proud of the Speaker and we urge his constituents to rally round him in order for him to succeed. ”
