5 Ways on how to assess your relationship

There are ways to tell if a relationship is great, not great or just somewhere in between. So, here are ways to tell how well your relationship is going.

1.Do you look forward to speaking to them, or seeing them?
There is a difference between talking to, or spending time with someone out of habit, and doing so because you really want to. While the first isn’t always a bad thing, what makes a relationship great is feeling like something is amiss in your day if you haven’t spoken to each other.

2. Do you trust that they will not do anything to deliberately hurt you?
At some point, everybody will disappoint us. This is a fact of relationships, and how people function. Trust in a healthy relationship is not about believing that your partner will never fuck up, but knowing that if they ever hurt you, it won’t be coming from a place of spite.

3. Do you share moments of silence together?
Being able to spend time in each other’s presence, and yet, doing your own thing is a relationship milestone. If you can comfortably co-exist, and not be bothered by these silent moments, then you’re doing great.

4. Are you two people who are together, or a team?
Everything from having sex to doing chores to facing the world can either be something you do as two individuals, or teammates. Of course, it is not going to be one of the two at all times. But, which one is it most often?

5. Do you feel overwhelming attraction, or desire for someone else?
Again, it is perfectly normal to be attracted to someone other than your partner. But, do you feel the urge to act on it? Or, do you find yourself wishing that you could still explore what it may be like to be with someone else? If you are in a fulfilling relationship, you may be attracted to someone else, but you will likely not find it easy to act upon it, even if you want to. What this means is that you care about your partner enough to not hurt them.
