NAF TO REWARD OFFICER FOR RETURNING 37,000 EUROS TO OWNER

The Chief of the Air Staff,CAS,Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar,has directed the chief of administration at NAF headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Kingsley Lar,to come up with modalities to reward,Aircraftman Bashir Umar,for returning missing foreign currency to the tune of about,37,000Euros(#15m) to its owner in Kano,last week.

A release by Director Public Relations and Information, Nigeria Air force, NAF,Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, indicated that the Air Man, was on routine patrol with his colleagues when he found a parcel containing the said missing money at the Hajj Camp Market in Kano.

And that,ACM Bashir Umar,a staff of the NAF Mobile Air Defence Team deployed to Kano airport for security duties,also found a telephone number on the parcel which he called and eventually returned the money to its owner simply identified as Ahmad,adding that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has concluded arrangement to reward the personnel.

This according to the statement, will go a long way to “encourage other personnel of the Service to continue to embody attitudes and behaviours that reflect NAF’s core values of integrity, excellence and service delivery,” Ibikunle Daramola,said.
