Why I resigned as Minister- Junior Education Minister

Following the the directive of Mr. President on Wednesday 11th 2022, telling ministers seeking for elective positions to resign, Junior Education Minister, Mr. Emeka Nwajiuba resigned his appointment with the Government.

Nwajiuba resigned few hours the President gave the directive that all political appointees participating in the 2023 Elections should resigned on or before May 16,he said he resigned to enable him pursue his political ambition.

Mr. Nwajiuba is the first appointee to resign after the President gave the directive on Wednesday, although Mr Nwajiuba decision to join the race generated outrage.

After the Minister purchased the Presidential form,it generated many negative reactions on social media, because of the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), because University students have been seated at home since February 14th,since the commencement of the strike.
