Tambuwal Approves 347m For Renovation Of Sokoto Specialists Hospital

The state government has approved the sum of about three hundred and forty seven million naira (347 million) for the general renovation and provision of equipment at the Sokoto state specialist hospital.

The exercise is through direct labour to facilitate the completion of the renovation and the provision of the equipment.

Chief Medical Director of the hospital Dr Nuhu Muhammad Maishanu announced this in a statement.

He said ten dilapidated wards, laboratories, clinics and staff offices would be renovated.

Also, the Maternity unit and Amenity wards were included in the renovation exercise.

The CMD said work for the renovation of Amenity ward has commenced in earnest.

Dr Nuhu Maishanu said state of the Arts medical furniture and equipment would also be provided.

He said Road network and landscaping of the hospital has not been left in the renovation exercise.

The CMD said after the completion of the renovation exercise, the hospital would meet all the standards required of a specialist hospital.

Dr Maishanu thanked the state government for the approval pointing out that this has clearly indicated the commitment of the Mutawalle administration to improve the health care sector in the state.

He however, appealed to people to continue to support and cooperate with the hospital for the attainment of the set objectives.
