Police donate N20.8m to families of 20 deceased officers in A’Ibom

The Police has handed over cheques worth ₦20.8m to family members of 20 deceased Police Officers who served in the Command.

State Commissioner of Police Olatoye Durosinmi while presenting the cheques on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali in Uyo at the weekend pointed out that the monumental loss of the fallen heroes were incomparable to the value of the cheques.

Durosinmi however said that the gesture was the IGP’s way of commiserating with them and aimed at ameliorating the hardship being experienced by the families of those who died in active service.

The Commissioner of Police, who condoled with the deceased families, urged them to reciprocate the kind gesture of the IGP by making judicious use of the money and assured of the support of the Command at all times.
