Bandits reject N3.5m for abducted Nasarawa state commissioner

…Demands N100M ransom

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Suspected armed bandits who kidnapped the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Yakubu Lawal Adda have rejected the offer to pay them N3.5 million by the victims family.

Instead the bandits boldly demanded for N100 million ransom to release the victims.

A family source who disclosed this said “The kidnappers called one of us at about 4.30 pm on Tuesday and said the only way they will release the Commissioner is when we pay the sum of N100 million as ransom.

“We offered to pay N3.5 million but they switched off their phone. Then we dialled the number again and it was no longer reachable”, the source said.

Nasarawa State Police Command had on Tuesday morning confirmed the abduction of the Information Commissioner, who was kidnapped at his residence in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state on Monday night.
The commissioner was kidnapped from his resident on Monday on the state by the armed terror group, according sources including the police.
