An advocate and supporter of women empowerment and men in Sabon Tasha area of Kaduna state and environments, Mrs. Talatu Philomena Zamani -Henry might have given hope to the hopeless in a book she launched.
She has also advanced the causes of writing such an inspirational but sympathetic novel titled: “Love’s Hope”.
The wife of Pastor Henry and founder of an NGO, Zamani Foundation, Mrs. Zamani Henry, said she was inspired by a girl who’s ultimate dream in life was shattered for making a wrong decision in her choice marriage.
Mrs. Zamani -Henry who made the revelations in an interview at the launching of her book weekend in Kaduna explained that the book is all about a girl called Zola, who fell in love with a man who did not only shattered her dreams and battered her life, but also infected and left her with HIV AIDS.
She said, “Love’s Hope is all about a girl call Zola who has dreams, like so many other girls, to become a very prominent person in life.
“Unfortunately because of wrong decision she got married to a wrong person who battered and shattered her life. She did not only battered her, he left her bankrupt and infected her with HIV. This what inspired me”, she said.
She also noted that “Working in Zamami foundation centre for many years, the number of women who came and complain about one thing or the other, most especially in-laws, spouses abuse, economic, financial, emotional abuses are worrisome.
“And even some men too who came here to complain about their wives conducts. And so this prompted me to see how i could inspire them, after the sensitization, awareness creation, workshop and all of that we’ve done.
“How can we also pass message to the people especially young ones to begin to think about how to channel and part their life in away where they could make rights decision in their life.
“This is what also inspired me to write this book on Love’s Hope. It’s for everyone including woman and man to read. Even if you make a wrong decision before, you should know that there’s always another chance”, Mrs Zamani-Henry said.
Similarly, the book reviewer Mr. Kura Markus also said in an interview that the book is about events happening at homes and in the societies, “basically about love which will do well with the young people because of its dynamism”.
“Its just about been carefully because is not anybody you fall love with. A novel where one of the characters is actually a selfish individual who go about victimising women and cheating on them.
“Unfortunately the young lady of the novel is easily changed, and, so she fell into the trap. But luckily she was able to recover herself in the end.
“It’s a big message for up coming lovers to be very careful and listen to their parents as they advise them. Ie the main message of the text”, he said.
On the target audience, the book reviewer Mr Markus said, “Also is about a man battering the wife anyhow and the issue of cheating the wife, using his money and resources to take care of himself and other women outside his family.
“There’s aspect of pure wickedness, because he deliberately infected a lady with HIV, in the text”, he lamented, and therefore advised young people to listen to their patents who’ve more experience, and keep to it.
The chairman of the book launch, that of the occasions, former commissioners, representatives of education commissioner, national library, road safety corps, lecturers amongst other prominent personalities graced the event held at Zamani center in Kaduna.
