BORNO GOV RELEASES #152.6M AS WAEC FEES

Professor Babagana Umara Zulum,has approved the payment of N152.6 million for the settlement of the registration fees of twenty four thousand, three hundred and twenty three indigenous students in Borno State, who sat for the May/June 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations.

A statement issued by Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy, Malam Isa Gusau, said “the approval complies with an established sponsorship policy in which the state government contributes 45% cost of registration fees per students while parents and guardians contribute 25% with local governments paying the balance of 30% for student of their councils. ”

The statement added that, “Governor Zulum’s approval followed a request made by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mohammed Mustapha Abacha,as the Governor wishes them best of luck, urging the students ‎who sat for the examinations to make Borno proud by the time the 2019 results are out and expects that contributions from the state and local government will inspire all students preparing towards future examinations to dedicate themselves to studies”.

The Governor also expects that government efforts will encourage parents, to continue to play their roles to support the learning and good characters of their children and wards”
