Lalong Happy as Groups Merge for Tinubu Campaign

Ugar Ukandi Odey, Jos

The Director General, All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Simon Bako Lalong, has commended the merger of the North-South Voter-to-Voter Movement for Tinubu/Shettima, and their commitment to the party’s goals ahead of the 2023 elections.
Governor Lalong spoke through his Chief of Staff, Yakubu Dati, at the Campaign Council’s Secretariat when the group paid a courtesy visit and presented a campaign planning initiative to the Council.
He said the strategic thing about the Movement is that it is a merger of different political groups and coalitions across the country who have selflessly collapsed into one for the purpose of working towards the victory of the APC come 2023.
According to Dati, the party remains on course to win the 2023 presidential election and other elective positions, observing that the party faithful and supporters alike are all playing vital roles to ensure the party wins the polls.
In his remarks, Chairman of the North-South Voter-to-Voter Movement for Tinubu/Shettima, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, said they will abide by the necessary rules and code of conduct in their quest to fully support the APC by getting really involved in the 2023 electioneering campaigns and mobilization.
He said the movement is a merger of various groups/coalitions across the country (North and South), for the purpose of providing a formidable force that will propel the APC to victory.
Among the groups that merged, according to Zazzaga, are the Plateau APC Bigwigs, North Central APC Forum, Patriotic Southern Coalition for Good Governance, and other pressure, interest, and support groups.
“In effect, the movement will provide mobilization, voter-voter campaign in urban and rural areas, media relations, as well as grassroots and voter awareness campaign”, Zazzaga declared, noting also that “some of our activities will also involve full participation in election campaigns/rallies across the country, organizing political programmes, symposiums, among others”.
He said “the movement will be committed to its focus, and will keep expanding its initiative strategically in order to achieve the desired goal”.
Thus, he called on all the political parties, contestants, electorate, and all the stakeholders in the 2023 elections project to conduct themselves peacefully so that the 2023 elections can be violence-free, fair, and credible.
