2022 Pilgrimage: NCPC boss seeks synergy with Italian Envoy

Ahead of the 2022 Christian Pilgrimage to Rome and Israel , the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC Rev. Dr Yakubu Pam paid a visit to the Consul General of Italy, HE Mr Ugo Boni at the Italian Consulate, Victoria Island, Lagos on 30th September, 2022.

Rev. Pam who was guest of the Italian Consulate disclosed that his visit was to seek synergy for speedy visa for intending pilgrims from the Consulate and to intimate the new Envoy on the operational framework of the Commission.

He said that the 2022 Pilgrimage destinations includes Israel, Jordan, Rome and Greece.

The NCPC Chief Executive also informed Mr Boni that the Commission would soon commence its 2022 Pilgrimage exercise to Rome and Israel by the middle of October, 2022, thus he solicited his cooperation and assistance in facilitating speedy visa procurement for the intending pilgrims and officials.

The NCPC boss explained that the Commission was established in 2007 by an Act of the Parliament as an agency linked to the Presidency to coordinate and supervise activities of christians who perform pilgrimages to the Holy Sites around the world.
This was contained in a press release signed by Celestine Toruka, Head Media and Public Relations of NCPC , made available to Daybreak.
The release stated that the NCPC boss further hinted that the Commission would also visit holy Sites in Turkey and other countries so that Nigerian Christians would have the opportunity to visit as many Holy Sites as possible and be spiritually fulfilled.

Rev Pam assured the Consul General that the Commission would continue to strengthen the bilateral relationship that exist between Nigeria and Italy through robust Pilgrimage exercise.
The Consul General Mr Ugo Boni, thanked the NCPC boss for his commitment and Passion for Pilgrimage , especially to Rome.
He promised to ensure that visa procurement for intending Nigerian pilgrims to Rome in October, 2022 will be given top priority by the Consulate.
He urged the Executive Secretary to ensure that all the relevant information of the intending pilgrims are brought to the Consulate on good time in line with their template.
The Envoy expressed great optimism for a symbiotic relationship between NCPC and the Consulate for a mutually beneficial relationship.
