Two Projects Executed By BUA Cement To Host Communities Gulfed N28m

In its efforts to execute corporate responsibilities, the BUA has today handed over the mechanized Borehole of 5000 litre tank capacity in Gagi, Sokoto South and installed 500kva Transformer at Gidan Baduwa village of Wamakko local government area.

Speaking during the handing over of the projects, the BUA Cement Managing Director, Engr. Yusuf Binji represented by Engnr. Tukur M. Lawal said Bua Cement believes in the provision of basic amenities to its host communities.

He added that the provision of the tank is aimed at providing potable drinking water to the community while the Transformer at Gidan Baduwa is to enhance electricity supply in the area and boost socio-economic activities within and around the community.

Engr. Binji further said their corporate social responsibilities led to the construction, installation of transformers and medicnes to neighboring communities mostly in host Wamakko local government planning to produce same another 8 host communities.

“118 old and new intake students will receive their scholarship grants this month to enable them continue with their studies accordingly.

” The students are mostly from Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states respectively”, averred the Engineer.

He maitaned that as part of educational sector contributions, BUA Cement will donate school tables and exercise books to about 20 schools within Sokoto metropolis and Wamakko local government adding that they are presently renovating classrooms and convenieces at Abdurashid Adisa Raji Model School for physically challenged.

He then thanked the government of Sokoto state for for the unconditional support accorded to the Company and for always supporting their efforts for better operations.

Earlier, in their separate remarks, the district heads of Gagi, Alhaji Sani Umar Jabbi and that of Arkiilla Alhaji Aliyu Hassan Liman all commended the management of BUA Cement for the gigantic provision of such projects and prayed Allah to boost the company and the management better lives.

They also commended the Company for employing thousands of youths within and outside the state appealing for more vacancies for youths.

He disclosed that during the year under review, the Company spent over N300m on the provision of social amenities to both host communities, Sokoto metropolis and neighboring states.
