Delta NSF 2022: No plan to shift Sports Festival’s date- Tonobok Okowa

The Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa on Thursday said that the Sports Festival scheduled to hold in Asaba this November would hold as planned.

Tonobok Okowa who is the Co-Chairman Local Organising Committee(LOC) National Sports Festival stated this at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba while speaking to newsmen on situation on ground as regards the Sports festival to assuage the rumours that there will be a shift in dates of the sports festival.

According to Tonobok Okowa, there is no plan to postpone the National Sports Festival. It will hold as agreed.

Okowa who doubles as President Athletic Federation Of Nigeria, disclosed that the state will receive the Torch of Unity for the sports festival on November 28, adding that the State flag will hoisted on November 29.

Sports Commission Boss noted that the arrival date for the contingents for the festival is still November 28 and 29, stressing that the opening ceremony will be on November 30 while the closing ceremony will be on December 10.

On the ongoing construction of facilities for the festival, Okowa pledged that in the next two days they would be ready, saying that the workers are at the cleaning up and installations of some facilities.

On the readiness of the State athletes for the festival, he stated that they have been in camp for training
