Bazoum’s Shocking Reaction to Coup: Isolation and Foreign Calls Raise Concerns – Dr Maho

Dr. Austin Maho has expressed concerns regarding President Bazoum’s response to the coup, asserting that in a democratic context, a leader’s primary responsibility should be engaging with the electorate who placed their confidence in his leadership, rather than immediately seeking assistance from foreign nations.

During an interactive session on AIT News, Dr. Austin Maho, a public affairs analyst, claimed that when the coup erupted in Niger, President Mohamed Bazoum chose to isolate himself and initiate communication with Western countries.

Maho emphasized that, as a democratically elected leader, President Bazoum’s initial action upon the coup’s occurrence should have been addressing the citizens who entrusted him with their votes.

Maho posed a thought-provoking question, asking why President Mohamed Bazoum’s immediate response to the coup in Niger was to isolate himself and engage Western powers, rather than reaching out to the citizens who granted him authority in the democratic nation.
