Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, representing Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic collapse of Zaria Central Mosque. The incident led to fatalities and injuries, prompting him to call for preventive measures.
In a press release by his Media and Publicity Adviser, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Speaker Abbas referred to the collapse as “disheartening” and noted that he was profoundly affected by the loss of life and injuries among his constituents.
He conveyed his condolences to the families affected and prayed for the departed souls. Speaker Abbas implored Allah to grant the deceased eternal peace and the injured a swift recovery.
Highlighting the incident’s significance, he acknowledged the tragedy occurring during the Friday Asr prayer and underlined the importance of investigating the incident’s circumstances. He urged Kaduna State authorities to take necessary actions to avert similar events in the future.
The Speaker lamented the loss of lives in a place of worship and conveyed his sympathies to the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the people of Zaria, Kaduna State residents, and the state government.
