“APC Questions Delay in Releasing N2 Billion Palliative by Osun Governor, Accuses Him of Neglecting Citizens’ Welfare”

By Daniel Edu

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State for allegedly withholding a N2 billion fuel subsidy removal palliative from the federal government. Tajudeen Lawal, the chairman of the APC, accused the governor of neglecting the welfare of the citizens and undermining the federal government’s efforts and programs.

Lawal questioned the justification for withholding the funds for two months, asking whether the governor was waiting for people to die before releasing the palliative.

In response, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Sunday Bisi, defended Governor Adeleke and criticized the APC’s claims, stating that Adeleke values transparency and accountability in government processes. Bisi mentioned that procurement orders had been placed for palliative materials, and they would soon arrive.

He argued that Governor Adeleke’s palliative plan was comprehensive and designed to reach the masses effectively. Bisi also asserted that accusations of fund diversion were baseless and stemmed from individuals with a history of corruption.

This exchange highlights political tensions and accusations between the APC and PDP in Osun State regarding the distribution of government funds for palliative purposes.
