The untold story of New Minister Balarabe Abbas of Environment
By Yusuf Usman Garba
When the news trickled in of the swearing-in of Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal as the substantive Minister of Environment, no one was left in doubt about his capacity and immense pedigree to deliver on his mandate.
So much have been written or said of this accomplished technocrat to the effect that his name has become a household one, known for his strong beliefs in sustainability and innovations in terms of delivery.
These qualities have seamlessly conspired to stand him out as one of epitome of change in the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Tinubu’s government.
As a politician, Abbas is seen to conceptualize the essence of genuine representation and as an administrator. Malam Balarabe Abbas is indeed an example of due process and exhibitor of profound temerity in forbearance steeped in experience and perfectly coordinated in a well balanced personality, as a leader.
In our post colonial polity, where more often than not, leadership responsibilities are given to people that are distant away from the realities of their mandates, the Honorable Minister has often considered himself as a servant of the people and works egregiously to prove and promote same.
As a fulfillment of covenant, Hon. Abbas believes in playing pivotal role in emancipating humanity through his honest and patriotic fidelity in service to humanity.
A man of high breeding and candour, he is an embodiment of change and progressive ideals which are seen in his all encompassing trajectory that is devoid of primordial and prejudicial posture, which has become his beacon since he came into the spotlights of national prominence
