Boko Haram Commander Abu Asad Eliminated

In a significant development in the ongoing battle against terrorism, notorious Boko Haram commander Abu Asad, a key figure in the Ali Ngulde faction of the terrorist group, was killed in an air raid. The operation took place at Tungushe, Mandara Hills axis of Borno State, conducted by the air component of Operation Hadin Kai Theatre Command between midnight of Saturday and early morning of Sunday, November 25 and 26.

Abu Asad, who was reported to have been second in command to the late Abubakar Shekau, met his end along with numerous combatants. The Nigerian Air Force confirmed the success of the mission, leading to jubilation among locals in Mandara Hills and Gwoza.

This victory is seen as a substantial blow to Boko Haram, with the elimination of Abu Asad expected to demoralize the remaining fighters and potentially encourage surrender. The impact of the notorious commander’s activities had severely affected agrarian communities, preventing them from cultivating large farms during the recent farming season.
