BREAKING: APC Leader Cairo Ojougboh Passes Away While Watching AFCON Match

Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, a former member of the House of Representatives representing the Ika Federal Constituency of Delta State and a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away.

The politician reportedly died on Wednesday evening while watching the AFCON semi-finals match between Nigeria and South Africa.

According to a close source, Dr. Ojougboh suffered a massive heart attack and collapsed when South Africa scored a penalty against Nigeria during the match.

As of the time of this report, his family has not issued an official statement regarding his demise. However, Mr. Augustine Ekamagule, the Publicity Secretary of Agbor Community Union, confirmed the news in a telephone conversation with Press Online.

Ekamagule relayed that Chief Laurence Onyeche, the President General of the Agbor Community Union, informed him about Ojougboh’s passing around 3 a.m. on Thursday. The family member who contacted Onyeche stated that Ojougboh collapsed while watching the football match and could not be revived.

Describing Ojougboh as a fearless and influential politician, Onyeche expressed condolences on behalf of the Agbor Community Union, acknowledging the significant loss to Nigerian politics.

Since the news broke, friends, political associates, and prominent figures such as President Bola Tinubu and presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar have expressed their condolences and mourned the late politician on social media platforms.
