**INEC Addresses IReV Failure During 2023 Presidential Election**

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has provided insights into the failure of the Result Viewing Portal (IReV) during the 2023 presidential election. In a comprehensive report, INEC attributed the server’s “HTTP error” to a configuration bug identified after polling units’ presiding officers encountered difficulties uploading results for the national assembly elections. The problem was reported at 4 pm on election day, partially resolved in four hours, and fully addressed with hotfixes deployed to fix the bug. INEC acknowledged the impact on public perception and implemented strict security measures to prevent unauthorized access to the Result Upload System.
