“WE WILL PROTECT THE INTEREST OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS” SENATOR LALONG ASSURES UNIJOS STUDENTS ON EXCURSION TO NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and Member, Committee on Tertiary Institutions and Tetfund Simon Bako Lalong has assured Nigerian Students that the National Assembly will pass relevant legislations that will protect their interest and boost the quality of education.

Senator Lalong was speaking when Members of the National Association of Computing Students, University of Jos visited him while on excursion to the national assembly.

Lalong said the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has outlined various programmes aimed at improving  education in Nigeria and the welfare of students.

He said the Senate is working on the Student Loan bill and other programmes that will enable the President fulfill his Renewed Hope Agenda for the education sector.

Lalong advised the students to continue to prioritise their studies and work towards utilising Information and Communication Technology to engage in entrepreneurship, empowerment, innovation and self development.

He indicated that he will soon unveil his plans of supporting students from his Constituency particularly at the Federal Polytechnic Nyak, Shendam Plateau State.

President of the National Association of Computing Students University of Jos Tola Mapis said they were privileged to visit the national assembly and interact with Senator Lalong who is not only a former Governor of Plateau State, but one of the leaders making impact in the Senate.

The students thanked him for granting them audience and said be remains an inspiration for the younger generation.
